How to have a Successful Booking Blitz to Fill up your Calendar

Hey there Sparkling Owls! Welcome to this week's training tip!
How to do a booking blitz to fill up your calendar with jewelry bar parties by calling people on the phone.

First, I think it is safe to say that most of us don't like to use the phone. It seems to weigh 10,000 pounds. Our heart starts to race, and our palms get all sweaty. However, the phone is a key element to the success of your business. Getting on the phone to call new people, past customers, hostesses, and leads is an absolute for the success of your business. But, just like anything else, with practice, it will get easier and you will become more confident talking to people.

Here are some tips to help you have a successful booking blitz:

1. Get ready.
Don't just start dialing the phone, you want to have a plan and a focus.

2. Set a time
Decide the length of time you will spend calling people to schedule jewelry bars. Will it be 15 minutes, half an hour, an hour or more? What time will you sit down and make the phone calls? I usually make my calls between 6:30-8:00pm because most people tend to be home from work, have eaten dinner and are more likely to be able to talk for a few minutes. It also helps you to manage your own family and children by setting a scheduled time to make your phone calls. Let them know you are calling your customers and when you will be finished so you don't have any interruptions and can focus.

3. Set  Up your Calendar
Decide on how many jewelry bars you want to have in a month. Then select the dates that you want to schedule jewelry bar parties. It is your business, so make a schedule that works for you. Also, I recommend over scheduling in case of cancellations. If you want to hold 4 jewelry bars, aim to schedule 6 or more.

4. Have your List of Contacts
Who are you going to call during your booking blitz? Who are your leads? Who are your customers who expressed interest in hosting a jewelry bar in the past? Use the "Origami Owl Experience" drawing slip to collect information from customers at jewelry bar parties, events, craft fairs, out and about, etc. Call past customers to follow up with them about how they are enjoying their jewelry. Contact new people, friends, family, neighbors, Facebook friends, etc. Fill out your "Who Do You Know? list" and go through them a little each day.

5. Find a Reason to Call
Yes, our main reason is we want them to schedule a jewelry bar with us, but find a reason that is about them. For example, follow up with a customer to thank them for their order and to find out how they are enjoying their jewelry. Let them know about any new special or incentives you may be doing. Let them know about the new jewelry coming out and if they would like to have a catalog, etc...

6. Ask for the Booking
Ask your contact if she would like to get together with a few friends for an Origami Owl jewelry bar. Offer a Party Theme idea like a Wine and Cheese party, Girls Night Out, Mexican Fiesta, Sandals and Margaritas, Mother Daughter party, etc... Avoid saying "booking" or "Do you want to book a party with me?" Offer something more fun and exciting by saying a girls' night out/in or a theme party.

7. Yes / No
When they say yes...awesome, lets get this party started. Pick a date and begin hostess coaching.
When they say no,...it's ok. You will get a lot of nos. You have to dig through the nos in order to find the yeses. Also remember, no doesn't always mean never, it means just not right now. Ask them if they would be interested in having a catalog when the new jewelry comes out. Then follow up with them later to see if it is a better time for them. And always end with your Referral Rewards system. Let your contact know they can also earn free jewelry by referring people to you who place an order, host a jewelry bar or joins your team.

Remember:

Some will, some won't, so what...who's next?

The more people you talk to, the more bookings you will get and the bigger your business will grow.

Using the Customer Care Card for your Origami Owl Business

Using a customer care card or drawing slip (which ever you might call it) can be one of the most useful tools to use to build your business. Having customers and other people you meet fill out the card can provide you with lots of information. You will get their name, address, e-mail, phone and and information about their level of interest in hosting an Origami Owl jewelry bar or joining your team. This information can help you follow up, to build a relationship, and to network with them.

So what can you do with this information?
With the address, you can send them a thank you card, a new catalog, an invitation to an open house jewelry bar party, etc... With their e-mail, you can add them to the O2 Connection Newsletter that Origami Owl sends out once a month. This way, they will receive information about what's new with Origami Owl and they are reminded of you. With their phone number, call them up. Thank them for filling out the customer care card and ask if there is anything they need. Ask if they would be interested in hosting a jewelry bar sometime or if they know anyone who might be interested.

So when and how can you use the customer care card to get this information?
1. Use the customer care card (drawing slip) at craft fairs and vendor events. Always do a raffle for a gift certificate to get them to fill it out.
  • When visitors stop by your booth, tell them about the drawing and have them complete the drawing slip to be put into the raffle.
  • As people walk by, invite them to also join in the raffle. The more contacts you are able to collect, the more possibilities you will have to find customers, hostesses and team members.
  • After the event, look over all of the drawing slips and contact each person to thank them for entering the drawing and ask if they would be interested in hosting a jewelry bar.
  • I also give them the $15 gift certificate anyways if they decide host a jewelry bar with me.
  • If they say "no", then let them know about your referral rewards plan to also be able to earn free jewelry. This way they may still lead you to new people and build your contact list.

2. Use the drawing slip at Origami Owl Jewelry bar parties.
  • At the end of the jewelry bar, pass out a customer care card to each guest to complete.
  • Ask them to choose 1-10 for their level of interest in hosting a jewelry whether is be soon or in a few months. Or if not them, but who do they know that might like to host a party and joining the business. Share about your referral rewards plan on how they can still earn free jewelry.
  • Collect the customer care cards (drawing slips) and use them for a drawing for a free gift.
  • Quickly skim through the customer care cards to check who is interested and make sure to talk to that person about hosting or joining before they leave the party.
  • Use the customer card cards to also follow up with guests after they received their jewelry from their order. This is when you can continue to build a relationship with a customer. Ask them how they are liking their jewelry, if they need anything else, if they'd like to host a jewelry bar or learn more about the business. Then, always be sure to share about your referral rewards again.

 3. Use the drawing slip  when you are out and about.
  • When someone comments on the Origami Owl jewelry you are wearing, tell them thank you, let them know about the business, and always give them a business card or catalog with your contact information.
  • Tell them that if they fill out a customer care card (drawing slip) you will put them in your monthly drawing for free jewelry. Give them a drawing slip (customer care card) to add them to a monthly drawing for a free charm and add them to the O2 Connection Newsletter).
  • Follow up with them to ask if they would be interested in hosting a jewelry bar, learning about the business or get referrals at the very least.
Who knew this little piece of paper can do so much to help build your business! To make it easy,  print the customer care card on a note pad from Vistaprint or another print shop and carry them with you along with business cards and catalogs to be able to hand out to people every where you go!

What are some other ideas on how we can use the customer care card??? Post some ideas and experiences using the customer care slips in the comment section below!

Referral Rewards Program for your Origami Owl Business

A couple months ago, one of my past hostesses received a compliment on her new Origami Owl Living Locket (that she earned for free by hosting a party with me) on Facebook. The friend was interested in the jewelry and asked her where she got her necklace. To my surprise, as I read the post in my feed, the hostess told her friend it was Origami Owl and to just "Google it" online! The hostess never referred her to me! After this incident, I wondered how many other times this had happened. I quickly realized that I needed to establish a Referral Rewards program to encourage hostesses, customers, family, friends, co-workers and everyone I knew to network and help refer people to me and grow my business.

Because Origami Owl is a type of "Network Marketing" business,  it is essential to network with the people you know to meet new people who would want to host an Origami Owl jewelry bar or join your team as a business partner. To encourage the people you know to help you meet new people, offer an incentive for them to be able to earn free jewelry.

Here is my referral plan that I use for my business and have had much success!

When you refer people to me, you earn free jewelry credit:
  • When someone makes a $50+ order, you receive $5 in free jewelry credit.
  • When someone hostess a jewelry bar party with me, you receive $10 in free jewelry credit.
  • When someone joins my team, you receive $15 in free jewelry credit.

So, why does this work?
Past hostesses who earned a lot of free jewelry and had a good party experience will refer friends and family to me so they can earn more free jewelry! Why not?Customers who might not want to host a jewelry bar can still earn free jewelry by referring other people to me who place an order, host or join. Many times, hostesses and customers will tell me that they love wearing their Origami Owl jewelry and have receive a lot of compliments. This is a perfect time for friends, family, co-workers, hostess
and customers to refer people to you so they may get own Origami Owl jewelry, especially if they know that they will be able to earn free jewelry! The result is people start working for you to help you meet more people and to build your business.

So set up a Referral Rewards program for your business. Print it on a business card to hand out and make labels to put on your take out menus (catalogs).

You never know who people will lead you to!
