How to have a Successful Booking Blitz to Fill up your Calendar

Hey there Sparkling Owls! Welcome to this week's training tip!
How to do a booking blitz to fill up your calendar with jewelry bar parties by calling people on the phone.

First, I think it is safe to say that most of us don't like to use the phone. It seems to weigh 10,000 pounds. Our heart starts to race, and our palms get all sweaty. However, the phone is a key element to the success of your business. Getting on the phone to call new people, past customers, hostesses, and leads is an absolute for the success of your business. But, just like anything else, with practice, it will get easier and you will become more confident talking to people.

Here are some tips to help you have a successful booking blitz:

1. Get ready.
Don't just start dialing the phone, you want to have a plan and a focus.

2. Set a time
Decide the length of time you will spend calling people to schedule jewelry bars. Will it be 15 minutes, half an hour, an hour or more? What time will you sit down and make the phone calls? I usually make my calls between 6:30-8:00pm because most people tend to be home from work, have eaten dinner and are more likely to be able to talk for a few minutes. It also helps you to manage your own family and children by setting a scheduled time to make your phone calls. Let them know you are calling your customers and when you will be finished so you don't have any interruptions and can focus.

3. Set  Up your Calendar
Decide on how many jewelry bars you want to have in a month. Then select the dates that you want to schedule jewelry bar parties. It is your business, so make a schedule that works for you. Also, I recommend over scheduling in case of cancellations. If you want to hold 4 jewelry bars, aim to schedule 6 or more.

4. Have your List of Contacts
Who are you going to call during your booking blitz? Who are your leads? Who are your customers who expressed interest in hosting a jewelry bar in the past? Use the "Origami Owl Experience" drawing slip to collect information from customers at jewelry bar parties, events, craft fairs, out and about, etc. Call past customers to follow up with them about how they are enjoying their jewelry. Contact new people, friends, family, neighbors, Facebook friends, etc. Fill out your "Who Do You Know? list" and go through them a little each day.

5. Find a Reason to Call
Yes, our main reason is we want them to schedule a jewelry bar with us, but find a reason that is about them. For example, follow up with a customer to thank them for their order and to find out how they are enjoying their jewelry. Let them know about any new special or incentives you may be doing. Let them know about the new jewelry coming out and if they would like to have a catalog, etc...

6. Ask for the Booking
Ask your contact if she would like to get together with a few friends for an Origami Owl jewelry bar. Offer a Party Theme idea like a Wine and Cheese party, Girls Night Out, Mexican Fiesta, Sandals and Margaritas, Mother Daughter party, etc... Avoid saying "booking" or "Do you want to book a party with me?" Offer something more fun and exciting by saying a girls' night out/in or a theme party.

7. Yes / No
When they say yes...awesome, lets get this party started. Pick a date and begin hostess coaching.
When they say no,...it's ok. You will get a lot of nos. You have to dig through the nos in order to find the yeses. Also remember, no doesn't always mean never, it means just not right now. Ask them if they would be interested in having a catalog when the new jewelry comes out. Then follow up with them later to see if it is a better time for them. And always end with your Referral Rewards system. Let your contact know they can also earn free jewelry by referring people to you who place an order, host a jewelry bar or joins your team.

Remember:

Some will, some won't, so what...who's next?

The more people you talk to, the more bookings you will get and the bigger your business will grow.
